I recently had the absolute honor of capturing the Aycock Family’s portraits in my Lafayette LA studio. They wanted a fully film studio session to document this stage in their family’s life. We all had a great time together and I loved the chance to get to know this sweet family even better!

When I photograph family sessions, it’s important to me that I’m capturing what your family is really like. I want to see your personalities come out – no boring or stiff photos here! While we’re always going to capture that one moment of everyone looking at the camera together, it’s more important for me to document your family naturally. I always encourage parents to let their children be kids. Sessions go 10x more smoothly this way and it’s way more fun… even if your kids are a little older, like these girls! Our session was full of lots of laughs and special moments between mom, dad, and their two girls.
In addition to relaxing and fully enjoying your time in the studio, it’s important to plan a session you like aesthetically. For the Aycock family, that was in my studio and on film. They also chose the perfect outfits for a studio setup! With pastel outfits for the ladies that tied into dad’s green shirt, they looked amazing all together in the studio!
After our session, Mark (the dad) told me that this session was how he always wanted family portraits to go: “We got along well and had fun together – it was like a family date that everyone wanted to be on.” To me, that’s a job well done! Thank you for trusting me with your precious moments!!
