Victoria and Matthew are married! I don’t have a large enough vocabulary to explain how much I love this couple – and especially Victoria. She is definitely a friend for life now! She and Matthew are just wonderful and she’s such a goof. Their Lafayette LA wedding day this fall was beautiful – celebrating what makes them both so incredible and everything they love about this city. The entire day was filled with Southern elegance from start to finish.
St. John’s Cathedral Wedding Ceremony in Lafayette
This day started with the darkest clouds and no sun to be seen. I drove through what felt like a monsoon on the way to bridal prep so sad that it was so ugly outside for my couple. However – when I entered the bridal suite and sat down to photograph details – Victoria came right over and sat down next to me and asked me how my day was going, and said “I’m so excited it’s raining! I put my cup out to collect the rainwater to save for future baptisms!”. Honestly, I had the biggest smile because so often, brides let the weather put a damper on their day but Victoria just embraced it. Personally, I also love that tradition, so it was super special to hear that she was taking something that could be disappointing and making it so beautiful!
Right before the ceremony, Victoria saw the woman who helped raise her as she was walking up to the church and her reaction was priceless. Victoria’s mom passed away right after she was born so she never knew her mom, so this older woman helped fill that role. It was a super special moment for both women and I know it’s one they’ll treasure for years to come.
Le Pavillon Hotel Reception
Oh my goodness! Le Pavillon is absolutely stunning and is the premier venue for receptions in Lafayette LA. Victoria and Matthew held their reception in the ballroom at Le Pavillon Hotel adding their own blue, pink, and gold details inside the gorgeous space. I loved the pops of color that the newlyweds picked to brighten their Lafayette LA wedding day. All of it was simply stunning! Not only was the reception beautiful, but it was tons of fun. Everyone filled the dance floor all night and they had a really cool confetti exit leaving Le Pavillon!
Congratulations again, Victoria and Matthew! I loved every moment of your rainy wedding day and the brightness you brought to your celebration. You’re both such wonderful people and I’m beyond happy for you!!
