Rip Van Winkle Gardens Bridal Portraits

Lauren is now a wife! This January, this beautiful lady got married to the love of her life (and I can’t wait to share their big day on the blog soon!). But, now that she’s had her wedding, I can safely share her incredible bridal portraits in Rip Van Winkle Gardens. Celebrating Lauren as a bride during her portraits was so special to me. This family has a permanent spot in my heart – because of their genuine love and kindness. I feel like a family member and not their wedding photographer. It’s been such a blessing to work with Lauren and her family!

Rip Van Winkle Gardens Bridal Portraits

For her bridal portraits, Lauren and I met up in the gorgeous Rip Van Winkle Gardens on Jefferson Island. Jefferson Island is one of the most beautiful spots near Lafayette LA. It’s got over 15 acres of gardens and land to explore, thanks to Joseph Jefferson. He was a famous actor who actually played Rip Van Winkle on stage – hence the name. Now it serves as an incredible venue for special events and a place for everyone to explore. Lauren and I decided it would be a wonderful backdrop for her portraits and I think we were definitely right!

I just adore Lauren’s bridal look. It was SO classic and beautiful. Her strapless gown looks amazing on her and I’m obsessed with her pink, purple, and white bouquet! For her portraits, she brought her veil and even a replica of her bridal bouquet to complete the look. There are definitely no rules when it comes to your bridal portraits, but I like to think of it as a trial run for hair and makeup, your flowers, and how your dress/accessories look together. Plus, we get to take a lot of fun photos together! To me, bridal portraits are really a chance to slow down and take in the fact that you’re getting married. Plus, getting more portraits in your wedding gown is never a bad thing.
