Congratulations to the Zarrs! This September, I had the honor of documenting their beautiful City Club at River Ranch wedding in Lafayette, LA. It was an elegant and classic celebration to mark the start of this next chapter of life. When I look back on Jillian and Luke’s day, all I really remember is joy. They were so happy to be getting married – not stressed, not worried – just happy and excited!
Lafayette LA Wedding Day
Before meeting Luke at St. John Cathedral for their ceremony, Jillian prepared with her family and bridesmaids. She didn’t show her ladies the gown before her wedding day, so it was a huge surprise for all of them! They were so cute when she came out in her bridal look – I loved it! I think bridal party first looks are always so much fun. I personally loved Jillian’s gown – the texture from her Anne barge wedding gown was incredible and she looked amazing! It was so fun to see her beautiful gown against the navy blue dresses she chose for her bridesmaids – and all of the elegant ivory flowers they carried, too. After her first look with her bridesmaids, she did a first look with her dad. He started crying before he even had the chance to open his eyes. We all had tears in our eyes, it was the sweetest moment! Their family was so joyful all day and just a pleasure to be around.
City Club at River Ranch Wedding
Jillian and Luke had a traditional Catholic wedding at St. John Cathedral before we all headed to the City Club at River Ranch for their reception. It was so beautiful – and a really fun night. The space at the City Club at River Ranch was filled with neutrals and the Zarrs added to it with tall floral centerpieces topped with white and pastel pink flowers in glass vases and candles on every table. Their wedding cake was gorgeous with more pink and white flowers cascading down the front. Stunning! Jillian and Luke know how to party, too, so their reception was full of great surprises like a live band, smoke machine, and glow sticks for everyone to enjoy. I don’t think the dance floor was ever empty once it opened up!
