My First Styled Shoot
I was beyond overwhelmed by the generosity of all the local vendors for this shoot, there was absolutely no hesitation when I approached them for help! OH, and I should probably mention that ALL of this got put together within ONE week (mental reminder for next time – plan ahead)!
Alyssa Arlene Events – This lady is absolutely amazing. She got there early – set up – stayed and helped – took everything down – and so much more! I met Alyssa while second shooting a wedding a few months ago and was so impressed. She made sure everything went down seamlessly and everyone was in an excellent mood. I’m so happy she took this shoot on at the last minute because without her – it wouldn’t have happened!! To anyone out there searching for a wedding/event planner – Alyssa is the best. The absolute Best.
Paul Michael Company – Have you ever been in this place? It’s like a version of Heaven, they have anything you could ever want! Alyssa and I walked around this store in awe. We ended up finding the perfect pieces for this rustic shoot. BIG thanks to Paul Michael Company to allowing us to use their pieces with such short notice!
Flowers By Rodney – Simply Amazing. When I approached Rodney with my vision for the bouquet and boutonniere – he caught on right away (which says a LOT, I’m not the best at describing what I’m imaging!) He understood and created exactly what I was hoping for and so much more!
LA StrEAT – Chef Zach’s food was excellent! Not only was the food plated with perfection, but it was also full of flavor. LA StrEAT is a newer food truck in the Lafayette area that also does catering. The food was cooked in his food truck (which is actually a 42 ft. long trailer) and then delivered to our site. One of his signature dishes served on the truck is a “Cajun Grilled Cheese” which is just your typical grilled cheese but then BOOM it’s stuffed with BOUDIN! That wasn’t one of the plates created for our shoot, but I can attest to how tasty it is… I’ve had a few 🙂
Joli Petale – If you’re looking for an amazing hair piece, Sophie is your girl. She hand crafts some of the prettiest pieces I’ve seen! We used a flower headband for the shoot which tied in perfectly with everything. Not only does she do hair pieces, but she offers many other accessories! She has some amazing bridal pieces on her etsy shop. Check it out: Here.
Katie Lynn Vincent @ Joie De Vivre Salon & Spa – Like Rodney, Katie understood exactly the mood I was going for with hair and make up. I met her and Kimberly (my amazing model that I’ll praise in a few minutes) at the salon early that afternoon and we chatted for a few minutes before I had to leave. Of course I had some pinterest inspiration to show her – but she took it and added her own flare!
Sky Blue Clothing Studio – I’ve never been let down by Sky Blue. The long vintage lace gown was the perrrfeccttt piece for this shoot. Sky Blue is one of my favorite boutiques in Lafayette because not only do they offer ‘everyday wear’, but they also offer such unique, vintage pieces!
And FINALLY. Last but NOT least- My Models!!! Kimberly & Brandon – love at first sight. I bet you guys never knew that I’m secretly a match maker? (I didn’t know either, don’t feel bad). But in all seriousness, these two were absolutely amazing to be around all day. When looking back at the photos – I would have never guessed that they were complete strangers who met 5 minutes before shooting!! They were adorable together and I can’t thank them enough for their help and support!
All in all – this experience was the best yet. It was a great opportunity to meet so many wonderful people who are great at what they do!
