Mr. & Mrs. Conrad: Lake Charles, LA.

Leah & Jonathan laugh together. all the time. even in the middle of their wedding ceremony. don’t believe me?! Keep scrolling and see for yourself haha! I really don’t know what else to say about these two. I’ve said it all! They’ve been such a blast to work with, and I’ve said it a few times now, but I really am sad that every thing is over with! But for them it’s just the beginning, and I pray that I get to work with them again!!

Oh – and Leah gave Jonathan a tie clip that had his mothers handwriting engraved on it saying “love you, mom”. She may not have been able to be there in person, but she sure was in spirit. Quite possibly the sweetest gift I’ve seen.

Mrs. Conrad : Jungle Garden Bridals

I feel like photographers get their own “first look” in a sense. When I show up to a bridal session I’m almost giddy with the anticipation of finally seeing her gown! It’s quite silly actually hahaha but it’s true. Leah’s dress kinda made me swoon. sigh. and then melt a little inside. It was a perfect balance of lace, and bling bling.
And to top it off – cap sleeves. Oh, the cap sleeves. Y’all, I love cap sleeves. Actually, I love sleeves in general. How many times can one person say sleeves?!

Gown: Allure Couture from Deshotel’s

Mr. & Mrs. Meaux

William and Naomi. Let me tell you something. These two are absolutely nuts for each other. That’s it.

The end.

No but really, these guys are honestly two of the sweetest people I’ve met. When I showed up to meet then girls at City Club Carriage house, there was an expected like 120% chance of rain, but I still had hope. I remember the girls whispering (low enough not to worry Naomi) in the corner about a tornado warning in the next city over. It was bad, y’all. It rained, and rained, and the sun apparently didn’t feel like getting out of bed. But Naomi kept smiling. She was focused on one thing…. William. It’s couples like this that make me smile. Knowing that they’re so focused on the marriage, and not just the wedding. The smiles on their faces during the ceremony was enough to turn the gloomy day into something fantastic!

Personal Work : A Modern Vintage Styled Shoot

I wanted to do a little something different with this shoot than the typical ‘vintage’ so I added some bolder colors, bright florals, and a fun DIY backdrop to throw a little spice into the mix! To check out the full digital set from the DIY backdrop – click here. The girls had two sets of outfits for this shoot. The first being a more glamorous, fun, flirty look used with the backdrop. And the second was a more romantic, vintage feel that was used in combination with the simplicity of nature. All of the outfits came from Sky Blue Clothing studio (with the exception of Alyssa’s high neck lace gown that was her mothers). Sky Blue has been such a ‘go-to’ spot for me lately when I’m in need of something with a vintage feel, they never let me down!

For me – a styled shoot is a chance to get creative. To get more practice with film, connect with vendors, and just get out there and create beautiful images.

Cat & Jason : Engaged

Catherine & Jason are getting married this December at (the beautiful) Rip Van Winkle, so of course we shot their engagements there as well! Despite the Louisiana afternoon heat, these two were so easy going and down for anything. Cat’s grandfather works with plants & flowers so we got to shoot some of their photos in the nursery section of Rip Van Winkle. It was SO interesting seeing a different side of RVW and all of the flowers while listening to Cat & Jason spew out the names like it was no big deal, while I couldn’t name a single one hahaha!

I cannot wait until their winter wedding!!
